The body is not disconnected from the mind. And its journey, whether to good or bad places, can only parallel the journey that the mind is taking. That's the whole point of following an "integral" practice. ~ Jim Giorgi

High Praise for "A Taste of Enlightenment" and "The Power of Intention: The Law of Projection" videos:

Sensei, I was very inpressed with the depth of your insights. I study behavioral science as a avocational backup to my work and marriage / relationship seminars. Your years of study have been obviously broader than most porfessionals. In my work (market trading) the mind is the biggest challenge.

I tell my students, that "You are the most dangerous person in the world, to be alone with". In the end we should be our own best friend but it usually just does not start out that way. I really like your insights to self awareness and perspective. Oh, if we could just DO IT...

...Repetition is the mother of skill and your DVDs need to be listened to many times. I expect that people will tell you that you have subliminally placed messages in the DVDs that will only come out in the 4th go around, and some in the 7th etc. That is how I measure the value of a work... if it is listened to repeatedly. That is why we are still trying to learn 1st wrist. lol...

I believe that a lot of people will be blessed by your efforts.

Ryan L, Behavioral Scientist

They [A Taste of Enlightenment and The Power of Intention-The Law of Projection videos] are wonderful and I love everything you have to say...we talk about many of the same things!  So far as clarity and understandability of your ideas, I think you’ve nailed it.  And you have that soothing, calm voice that matches the subject matter so well!  The meditations are great . . . This video "A Taste of Enlightenment" has helped me introduce the concept of meditation to my patients and has addressed many of the common misconceptions that keep individuals from pursuing meditation as a path toward greater mental health and overall peace.  I highly recommend this video to "newcomers" and "old-timers" alike.

"A Taste of Enlightenment" video blew me away! I think it was definitely not an accident that I Googled your name the other day. I am very excited and I am going to begin meditating using the "ABC" method tonight. I generally have a hundred voices all talking at the same time before I fall asleep so I would assume that that is a good place to start. I don't know if anyone has told you but you have a wonderful voice on these recordings. As I was listening I had memories of you discussing "mindfulness" at a seminar years ago. You asked us about driving. Your point was (if my memory serves) that when we drive our attention is on everything but the act we are performing. I remember for weeks I focused on driving and found that it was quite relaxing. I also remember you telling us to feel our big toe. Honestly it was the first time I ever did and it was amazing.

"I just previewed the "Power of Intention: The Law of Projection" video and let me say I am blown away. I don't know if you had heard but last year my son was in a fire and was not supposed to make it through the night. He basically said goodbye to us in the life-flight helicopter. That night in the burn unit I had a vision of God's hands healing my son and I told my wife we had to go to him(we were in the waiting room)and we got up and went back in. Without any discussion or thought we went to either side of his bed and put our hands over his arms and began projecting healing energy into his body. That experience changed my life forever and the biggest change was spirituality. At that moment I joined the Universe and began to understand what God was and what I was and what the Universe was. We are all the same and for the first time I felt connected. I believe that everything in my life is purposeful and I now thank the Universe daily for my place and being. Not until your video and a Reiki manual that I read have I heard it put in such a cohesive way and personally I thought yours to be clearer and more illustrative. .

For years I have been searching for the path or teaching to find my true self. It was not until recently I found that I already posses all the knowledge and wisdom I would ever need in this life's journey. Taste of Enlightenment: Mindfulness is as Simple as A-B-C provides a clear and concise plan for the exploration of the inner self. The practice of mindfulness adds another dimension to my meditation practice.
Congratulations on a well executed and inspiring work.

I really enjoyed the videos.

A Taste of Enlightenment succinctly captured what meditation is--and isn't.  Starting with the questioning of one's happiness, moving through an explanation of Buddha's Four Noble Truths and their validity from a modern psychological view, and concluding with the straight-forward A-B-C that lead to enlightenment, the video clearly presents a topic that more often veers into the mysterious and esoteric.

The Power of Intention  serves as a companion piece to the previous video by  further and more deeply explaining the various ways in which we allow ourselves to get in the way of what we want.   Jim provides logical conclusions as to how through meditation  and being present we can bring our intentions to reality.

Entering Mindfulness and Mindfulness 101 are both "doing" videos which lead the practitioner to put into practice the controlled attention to the moment that is meditation and to experience "the space between the thoughts."

It's refreshing to experience Jim Giorgi's clear, uncomplicated and insightful distillation of the treasure that is meditation!

Jim Giorgi ~ Therapist and Biofeedback

It is very  hard  to write about something that is as personal as mental health treatment especially when the saga to find mental health lasted 27 years and ended after three years of neurofeedback treatment with Jim Giorgi. I was a severely abused child for years and so I came into adulthood with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which I developed first a pre-schooler and with which my brain grew into adulthood.

I did what I was told would be help me at the age of 19 when as someone alone in the world and wounded by my childhood, I went into psychotherapy. I went to see a three different psychologists at the same mental health office for a total of 9 years of individual therapy. Then in my thirties after a being in an accident, after which my general health and also my mental health declined I started to see psychiatrists to relieve symptoms of depression.

When I was 38 years old, I was finally diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, an immune system disorder in which depression, panic attacks and fears are caused by viruses from the Human Herpes viruses group. I had to take more and more medications to keep the symptoms at bay. I took more than 20 pills a day and within that amount were 80 mg of Prozac--four times the normal therapeutic dose--just to survive each day.

One day I was reading through some old files and I saw a book review of "A Symphony in the Brain." The book was written by Jim Robbins, a journalist who had suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and found relief and a real cure in neurofeedback treatment. I read the whole book very carefully from front to back and I was amazed at what this new kind of technique could do to treat all kind of mental problems.

Then I got on the Internet to find someone who practiced this treatment near where I lived at the time.  It must have been with Divine Guidance that when I heard Jim Giorgi's voice on the answering machine, something told me that I had to meet this man.

My treatment took three years, but I was a difficult case, as I had both Post Traumatic Stress Disorder stemming from early childhood and also Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which caused mental problems in people who did not have traumatic childhoods. As the neurofeeback therapy went on  I needed less and less medication until I could manage without it, and then with time, my symptoms started to lessen one by one.

I was so happy when the panic attacks just stopped. The depression weakened and it also just disappeared. I have been well for the past four years since I stopped neurofeedback and I know that I will never again need to use psychiatric medications.

What is most beautiful about this kind of treatment is that the results are permanent. When we take medication we are helped just as long as the medication lasts in our systems. Once the liver gets rid of medication, the symptoms come back. With neurofeedback the therapist slowly and carefully resets our brain waves to work in a normal way. The chemistry of the brain and the brain waves are part of one system, so as the waves are brought into a more normal functioning the brain chemistry follows suit. My brain waves were reset by a master, i.e. Jim Giorgi and my brain chemistry is now normal. I have now enjoyed mental health for the past four years. If I had done this kind of treatment years earlier I would have been spared a lot pain and many visits to psychologists and psychiatrists. If anybody has any doubt if this treatment works please read the book "A Symphony in the Brain" by Jim Robbins.
